When the mathletes arrived at Math Soccer Camp, they noticed the t-shirts worn by the coaches and assistant coaches. Was it their uniform? It certainly made it easy to identify them! There was much excitement when the mathletes received their own shirts toward the end of the week! It’s a little thing that went a long way to contributing toward a sense of identity, belonging, and community. That community extends into the Greater Oberlin Community through the sponsorship of many area organizations and businesses. In the process of seeking sponsors, we had the opportunity to educate the community about the work of the Du Bois Project.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we were able to make math and soccer fun for 65 Oberlin children.
